KVA Grid supplies diesel generator sets from 20 kVA to 2000 kVA to projects in the Gulf, Africa and South Asia, and answers enquiries with the rating, the configuration and the lead time rather than a catalogue page.
What we do
Sets selected for a load, not for a price list
A generator set is chosen by the load it has to carry and the conditions it has to run in. Two projects that ask for 500 kVA end up with different machines when one has a chiller bank starting together and the other has a single pump, and the difference is decided before the order, not after it.
We work from the load list: running kW, power factor, the starting method of the largest motor, and the site conditions. From those figures we propose the rating and the duty (ESP, PRP, COP or DCP), the engine and alternator, the enclosure, the tank and the control system, and we say which of them change the price and which do not.
Engines and alternators
Sets are built with engines from Cummins, Perkins, Volvo Penta, Weichai, Yuchai, Deutz, Kubota, Yanmar and Lovol, paired with brushless alternators such as Stamford, Leroy-Somer or Marathon. The make and model are named in the quotation.
Configurations
Silent canopy, containerised, trailer-mounted and open frame, with the tank, the automatic transfer switch, the parallel controls and the remote monitoring specified as part of the build.
Documentation
Datasheet, factory test report, wiring diagram, operation and maintenance manual, spare parts list and warranty statement are issued with every set.
Standards
Ratings follow ISO 8528-1, alternators IEC 60034, and the control equipment IEC 60204-1. The certification page sets out what each standard covers.
Markets
Where the sets go
The sales desk works mainly with the United Arab Emirates and the wider Gulf, and with buyers in Africa and South Asia. Ports and destinations in those markets are quoted with the freight element included, and the 50 Hz and 60 Hz builds are both supplied: 400/230 V at 50 Hz for the Gulf, Europe and most of Africa and Asia, and 480/277 V at 60 Hz for North American specifications and 440/254 V for the legacy networks in West and Central Africa.

How we work
From enquiry to delivery
- Enquiry. The rating, the duty, the voltage and frequency, and the destination. A load list or a tender extract shortens this step considerably.
- Selection. We confirm the rating and the build, flag anything in the description that would change the machine, and ask for the specific number that is missing rather than guessing at it.
- Quotation. Configuration, price, documentation and lead time, with the engine and alternator make and model named.
- Build and test. The set is assembled, tested on load and inspected before packing. Witnessed testing can be arranged when the order is placed.
- Delivery. Packing list, shipping documents and the test records travel with the set, so the site check-in and the customs paperwork match what was ordered.
After delivery
Spares, service and questions after the order
Spare parts and service requests go to the same WhatsApp number and email address as quotations. Give the set serial number and the engine make and model, and we can find the build record for that machine: the parts fitted, the test readings and the drawings as built. Consumables such as filters, belts and hoses are the parts most often ordered, and quoting them from the serial number avoids the wrong part arriving at a site in another country.
Do you supply 50 Hz and 60 Hz sets?
Yes. 50 Hz builds run at 1500 rpm and are usually 400/230 V; 60 Hz builds run at 1800 rpm and are usually 480/277 V, with 380 V, 415 V and 440 V three-phase builds also common in the region. The frequency is fixed by engine speed, so it has to be decided before the set is built rather than adjusted afterwards.
Can you quote against a tender or a written specification?
Yes. Send the tender document or the specification and the reply is a quotation for the clauses that affect the set: rating and duty, enclosure and noise, control and paralleling, documentation and factory testing, together with any clause that would change the price or the lead time.
How long does delivery take?
It depends on the rating, the enclosure and whether the build is standard or project-specific. The lead time is stated in the quotation for the configuration quoted, and containerised or multi-set orders take longer than a standard canopy set. If a date is critical, say so at the enquiry stage and we will tell you which part of the specification is driving it.
